Why use kraft paper as food packaging bags?

Kraft paper packaging has always been favored by all walks of life, and the catering industry is no exception. Numerous merchants within the catering industry utilize kraft paper as food packaging. What are the benefits of utilizing kraft paper as the raw material for food paper bags?

First of all, because kraft paper bags are non-toxic, tasteless and pollution-free, they are in line with the environmental protection concept advocated by the country. They are also one of the most popular packaging materials in the world since of their high strength and high environmental protection. Kraft paper bags made of kraft paper as crude materials have pulled in more consideration and can be seen all over in general stores, shopping shopping centers, clothing stores and other shopping places. In this manner, the catering industry has caught up with this wave of excitement and is more easily accepted by customers. And kraft paper bags are reasonable for printing patterns, which are more fresh.

Furthermore, kraft paper is based on all-wood pulp paper, and the colors are divided into white kraft paper and yellow kraft paper. A layer of PP material can be utilized on the paper to prevent oil and water. The strength of the bag can be made into one to six layers according to the customer's requirements, and printing and bag making are integrated. As we all know, paper is a recyclable resource. The raw materials for papermaking are mainly plant strands. In addition to the three main components of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin, there are other components with lower content, such as resin and ash. In addition, there are auxiliary components such as sodium sulfate. The plastic bags we utilized before are supported by polyethylene, and the raw material of polyethylene is petroleum, which is a non-renewable resource. In comparison, food paper bags made of kraft paper are more popular with merchants because of their degradable and recyclable characteristics.

Speaking of the first kraft paper bag for shopping, it was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA in 1908. In order to promote sales growth, Walter Duvina, a local grocery store owner, began to look for ways to allow consumers to buy more things at one time. Duvina believed that it should be a prefabricated bag that is low-cost and easy to use, and can at least withstand a weight of about 75 pounds. After repeated experiments, he locked the texture of this bag on kraft paper, because it uses coniferous trees with longer wood fibers to make pulp, and is treated with caustic soda and alkali sulfide chemicals with relatively mild chemical effects during the cooking process, so that the original strength of the wood fibers is less damaged. Therefore, the paper produced in the end has tight connections between fibers, and the paper is tough and can withstand greater tension and pressure without breaking. Four years later, the first kraft paper bag for shopping was born. It has a rectangular bottom and a larger volume than the traditional V-bottom paper bag. A rope runs through its bottom and both sides to increase its load-bearing capacity, and two pull rings are formed at the top of the paper bag for people to carry. Duvina named this shopping bag after himself and applied for a patent for it in 1915. At this time, the annual sales of this shopping bag have exceeded 100 million.

With the global prevalence of the "anti-plastic" trend, environmentalists have begun to turn their attention to the ancient kraft paper bag. McDonald's China has been gradually promoting the use of heat-insulating kraft paper bags to hold takeout food in all its stores since 2006, replacing plastic food bags. This move has also received positive responses from other businesses, such as Nike, Adidas and other former major plastic bag consumers, who have begun to use high-quality kraft paper bags to replace plastic shopping bags. In summary, food paper bags are oil-proof and waterproof, are renewable resources, and are the overall trend today.
