2. The "Secret Sauce" is Heat and Pressure


This is where the real sterilization happens. Our molding process isn't just about shaping the pulp; it's about baking it safe.

 

Step 1: Pulping. We take bamboo create a soupy slurry. Just fibers and water.

 

Step 2: Thermoforming (The Critical Step). This is the part that puts our minds at ease. The slurry isn't just air-dried. It's pressed in custom molds at temperatures soaring between 170–220°C (that's up to 428°F). Imagine putting something in a super-hot oven for several minutes. That level of heat isn't just shaping the tray-it's effectively pasteurizing the fibers, eliminating any potential biological contaminants right there in the mold. The high pressure (we're talking around 60-70 kN) then locks the structure in, creating a surprisingly sturdy product.

 

Step 3: Finishing Touches. After they're formed, we trim them up. If a client needs resistance to a greasy burger or a wet salad, we add a thin, bio-based PLA coating (derived from corn). It's FDA-compliant and fully compostable, just like the tray itself.
