Yangi says its cellulose container lids are suitable for global recycling systems and the company uses a dry forming production process designed to significantly reduce the environmental impact of its products. The lids feature embossing and debossing for branding.

Cellera dry forming manufacturing technology is currently in use at Yangi's production facility in Varberg, Sweden. The company also said it is currently screening its commercial machine platform for investment to provide selected partners with a first-mover advantage in the market.

"We are proud to announce another new product addition to Yangi's portfolio: container lids for dry and ambient foods," said Johann Kaiser, CEO of Yangi. "This marks an important step in further validation of Yangi's dry forming technology, while we continue to innovate to further develop more advanced products and barrier properties to meet the changing needs of the food industry."

In March of this year, Yangi partnered with GDM, an industrial market solution company, to expand the delivery scope of the Cellera technology platform. Yangi claims that it provides complete solutions to packaging manufacturers and brands through its Cellera machine platform and customized services, including consulting services for packaging design and ordering materials.

Recently, Blue Ocean Closures announced plans to commercialize its fiber-based screw caps in partnership with Swedish nutritional supplement supplier Great Earth. The two companies hope that this solution will provide a viable alternative to existing plastic screw caps and achieve recyclability.
